“May I ask all the volunteers to gather in the gym?” requested the great-to-be-with supervisor, Kalsang Dolma.
All the volunteers, who had such a great energy and were as ready as they can be, joined all together with those eye-catching blue as ocean and the crystal-clear snow like white t-shirts on. They all looked as beautiful as the Caribbean parade.
“Good morning everyone and thank you very much for being a part of this most awaited youth led event!” said Kalsang.
She continued with all the important announcements to be made and the event was in full swing. The enthusiasm-packed MC then called the players, who were as excited and nervous as the finalists of the Olympic Games. After the breath-taking and sweat-producing tournaments, winners were announced which they deserved and were congratulated as well, yet other players had the taste of defeat that was bitter indeed.
The clock stroked one when the lunchtime came, and all the volunteers were attracted by the alluring smell of the freshly made vegetable sandwiches and yummy samosas, and formed a crowed so tight that some boys and girls fell down as if they were old trees falling down in the storm. At 1:20 sharp, Kalsang made announcements for the volunteers to set up for the multicultural dance program to be held after lunch.
“I would also like to inform all the participants of the performances to get set and ready”, announced Kalsang.
Performers were like busy bees with their never-ending chats full of excitements and nervousness making the change room about to explode any time. The incredibly anticipated show began with the door crashing performance by the drumming group that gave out great amount of energy to the audience, which caused to stand up and dance with its continuous beats.
Next was the Bollywood fusion dance by the first time newcomer performers that even entertained the mass and made them to shout to their throat, and it also made them wonder what surprises are packed for the upcoming magical entertainers.
Adding fuel to the glowing fire of the success of the event, it was followed by even more amazing and humorous presentations like hip-hop, African dance fusion, guitar solo, Tibetan dance, dranyen song, gypsy songs and Bollywood dances all of which marked a vivid memory in the mind of all the people present in the event. The dances were as astounding as the great musical performances, and the singers created their music like the melodious morning birds whereas the whole cultural event showed the beauty of our diverse community and its awe-inspiring culture.
Over all, everyone showed the spirit of teamwork with the hands of all the volunteers, which made the event, keep on going smoothly without any kind of negative disturbances.
It was then time for the award ceremony when the entire tournament winners were awarded with trophies and all the volunteers were acknowledged with certificates which made their face to blossom like the beautiful spring flowers, after the indefatigable work put on by them for that event.
Ultimately, our very own supervisor Kalsang, who was really happy with the success of the program, gave her appreciation to all the volunteers and staffs involved and she had her mouth stretched to both sides forming a huge grin that was the best end to the whole event.
