JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND
Rated: PG
Whoa!!!This month, it’s the time to take a journey. A journey of a lifetime and a journey you wouldn’t want to miss. It is the Journey 2 “the Mysterious Island”. The movie is directed by Brad Peyton starring Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine, Vanessa Hudgens and Josh Hutcherson. The sequel starts with Sean trying to escape from the police with a dirt bike. He gets caught by the police when he crashes himself into a neighbour’s swimming pool. This is when Hank (step father) played by Dwayne steps into the picture who comes to bring back his son home. The reason Sean gets caught is he breaks into a satellite tracking facility to get a coded message from his grandfather who wants Sean to come to his so called mysterious island.
Hank then asks Sean about his secret code and decodes it in a second which told that the islands in Robert Louis’s Treasure Island, Verne’s Mysterious Island and Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s travel were all talking about the same island. So, they rip out the maps from each book and overlap each other which formed a new map, a map to the mysterious island. Hank travels with his son to Palau in search of the island so that he could spend more time to understand him.
Gabau with his daughter Kailani agrees to take them to the location where they want to go by his helicopter. They crash directly into the eye of the hurricane and find themselves in the mysterious island. They wander around the island for some period of time and later Sean finds his grandfather. He leads them through the Lost city of Atlantis. But then comes a new twist to the movie when Hank finds out the island is going to sink in 48 hours. There only hope is to find the Nautilus (submarine) which is located somewhere in the island. Would they make it to the Nautilus ??? Or would they be trapped in the island??? …………………..? Popcorns running hastily into my mouth, I am tensed. Will they make it or not???? And I find myself in the middle of the theatre, lights lit and a smile of satisfaction on my face.
I would rate this movie 9 out of 10. This movie is the best movie for me this winter. The 3D effect of the movie is hats off. The sound effects are great. The cinematography is awesome. It makes us feel that we are in paradise. The best part of the movie is there is not even a single use of tobacco. And this makes the movie really special. Journey 2 “The mysterious islands” proves that a movie can be beautiful and wonderful without the use of tobacco and smoking. And one better thing about the movie is that when I have watched the movie I haven’t come across any brand placement in the movie. The actors in this movie have done a great job. Dwayne deserves a big hand for his lively and wonderful act. This type of movie encourages the kids and teenagers to be creative with their own thoughts. And I look forward for more of this kind of movie in the near future.
